Delegates and Members of the CPSU/CSA are invited to take a stand against poverty and attend a Climate Change Forum: 6.30-7.30pm on 26 November 2008.
We will show a brief video and discuss the ways in which our Union can contribute to the world-wide campaign to Make Poverty History - perhaps by influencing the patterns of consumption and energy use in our work in State Government.

As an Industrial Officer you'll provide industrial advice and representation to Union Members in relation to their terms and conditions of employment. You'll be exposed to all elements of the employment contract, interpretation and enforcement of public sector industrial instruments and representation before State and Federal industrial tribunals. By now most DFC Members should be aware that the Department for Communities and your Union negotiated an Agency Specific Agreement to replace the old and expired Department for Community Development Agency Specific Agreement (ASA) 2006.
The Draft ASA agreed to by both parties is fundamentally a “carry over” of the previous ASA, but now applies to DFC employees only. This ASA has not yet been voted on or registered.
However, since the initial agreement and drafting of the ASA, the DFC has changed their position about Clause 9 - Career Breaks (unfunded). They have two proposals for Members:

Enough is Enough!
School Support Staff Rally, Parliament House

As School Support Staff continue to be buried beneath a mountain of work, Education Dept and Government are making decisions about resourcing for 2009.
They need to hear your voice - NOW!
We have invited the Minister for Education Liz Constable to address the Rally and outline the Governments plan to address your workload.
If we don’t act now we will have to wait until at least 2010 before any extra funding can be achieved!
