Family Resource Employees hit the ground running
Family Resource Employees (FREs) working with children in the Department of Child Protection and Family Support have begun negotiations for a new Agreement.
At a planning day in May, members came together to discuss issues affecting FREs and to establish a plan of action to address them in the coming months. Career development, occupational health and safety, training and reclassification were all discussed. It was also agreed a specific Joint Consultative Committee (JCC – meeting with DCPFS management) and an Elected Delegates Committee meeting (EDC) will be established and meet regularly to progress important issues.
DCPFS and Commerce have committed to providing a response to the claim soon. Stay tuned for further developments.
