This is the advice we are giving to members after a Social Trainer, with 30 years of unblemished loyal service to DSC and its clients, has been trawled through an 8 month disciplinary investigation and reprimanded for leaving 4 residents in a bus for 4 minutes last October.

We have been advised that the privatisation of DSC Group Homes has been delayed. Despite DSC claiming in March 2014 that the privatisation was well underway, some DSOs have written to families to explain that there is a delay in starting the transition process.

Privatisation Plan Derailed!
It is the month of May and despite DSC continuing to claim their privatisation process is on track they have failed to privatise even one home. In no small part, that delay is the result of our campaign: members, families and the community fighting together to push back and stop these homes being lost.

Congratulations – Our campaign to save DSC is having an impact.
Despite the announcement in January, of the first list of group homes to be privatised - It’s now mid-April, and no group homes have been privatised yet. This is proof that our campaign is having an impact and by working together with families and the community, members continue to demonstrate we can slow this privatisation and potentially even stop it.
