Assessors drive protest to Parliament
Government employed driving assessors will protest near Parliament this afternoon over concerns of privatisation of the industry.
Department of Transport driving assessors will walk off the job at 1pm.
Assessors from the nine metropolitan licensing centres will meet at Solidarity Park near Parliament House to protest at the WA government's plans to allow private operators to work in the sector which they say could potentially compromise driving standards.
Community and Public Sector Union/Civil Service Association branch assistant secretary Rikki Hendon said the Barnett Government's "privatisation agenda was pretty clear."
