Barnett Government's tourism campaign provokes social media backlash

A new tourism campaign plan to enlist the public in promoting the state's attractions unveiled by WA Premier and Tourism Minister Colin Barnett has sparked an immediate social media backlash. The cash-strapped State Government is targeting tourism as a major economic growth area, and wants to leverage social media using the hashtag #JustAnotherDayinWA.

But the campaign was quickly mocked on Twitter, with some tweets using the hash tag to highlight shark attacks, traffic congestion and poor public transport.
