A staff member at the Banksia Hill Juvenile Detention Centre in Perth has been injured while trying to restrain a 17-year-old detainee, the Community and Public Sector Union says.
It said the officer's arm was broken and his elbow dislocated while trying to restrain the detainee, who had earlier been throwing rocks at staff.
Michelle Sheehy, the union's acting branch secretary, alleged the teen was involved in a riot at the centre earlier this month.
