Rikki Hendon from the Community Public Sector Union said Banksia Hill was “at breaking point” after at least three violent episodes in six weeks. Ms Hendon laid the blame partly on last year’s cuts to the centre’s young adult development program. 

“Banksia hill will continue to be plagued with issues until proper resourcing for rehabilitation of young people in the centre is provided,” she said.
