Turnbull Government Slugs retired Public Sector Employees
New income test arrangements come into effect on 1 January 2016 for people on defined benefit superannuation pensions.
Currently a large proportion of the defined benefit superannuation scheme pension is excluded from the pension income test (the deductible amount).
This will be reduced to 10% on 1 January 2016 so that 90% of a pension will be considered as income for aged pension income test.
Retired or retiring members are encouraged to maintain contact with their Union as 'associate members' to ensure you're kept up-to-date with further important superannuation changes.
