These changes are already underway in Print Cell and are likely to have a flow on affect in Bookshops and Libraries. We do not know all the details yet, indeed we still await an official Notification of Change.

In a shock event we receive news that members in WA Police have been emailed letters notifying them of the abolition of their permanent positions. This was done, in some instances, without our members’ managers even knowing! There will be winners and losers in the Department of Education’s new school funding model according to the Community and Public Sector Union/Civil Service Association. Branch assistant secretary Rikki Hendon said the model was only a redistribution of current resources and not an injection of much-needed funding following last year’s massive cuts to the department.

After members' decision to reject the offer put to you by Serco, we wrote to Serco to recommence negotiations for a better deal.
Serco have recognised members' overwhelming rejection of their offer and have agreed to meet with the joint unions again to try and come to an agreement.

UnionsWA today launched the first of the first of their videos in The Full Story series. Importantly, this first video is about the WA State Budget and how revenue from royalties, even with falls in GST income mean that the Barnett Government can afford decent public services without cuts and privatisation.
