Barnett flags tough budget cuts

Colin Barnett has foreshadowed cuts to services and programs in a later than usual August State Budget in "tougher" financial circumstances. Despite delivering Budgets in the midst of the global financial crisis during his first term, the Premier said: "I think this term of Government is certainly going to be tougher financially than the first term.

Assessors concerned about untested migrant drivers

Department of Transport licence assessors have blasted a national campaign that has added extra countries to the Recognised Country and Experienced Driver Recognised Country categories. This means more people moving to Australia will not have to sit local driver tests, something the majority of WA’s licence assessors have questioned in a series of union meetings.
