Anna Stewart Memorial Program 2015
The CPSU/CSA recently welcomed 6 participants from various agencies as part of the Anna Stewart Memorial program.
Kirsten Hansen (Disability Services Commission), Sharna Seabrook (Child Protection & Family Services), Alison Harley (Police), Danielle Steele (Insurance Commission WA), Deborah Stackpole (Corrective Services) and Julie Crooks (Housing) joined female members from other unions in the week long course.
The program was established in 1986 in honour of Victorian union official and long-term women’s rights campaigner Anna Stewart.
The aim of the program is for members to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence, empowering them to be actively involved in their workplace and union activities.
Highlights of the program included going out to workplaces with union staff, having breakfast with CPSU/CSA branch secretary Toni Walkington and meeting Federal Deputy Opposition Leader Tanya Plibersek.
Our members said they drew strength from meeting unionists from a diverse range of occupations and sharing experiences and strategies.
