Bushfire Summit
CSA members have a significant history in managing bushfire mitigation in WA and we are proud of the work they do. This work is often conducted under difficult circumstances to ensure the safety of West Australians.
The Government has announced a Bushfire Mitigation Summit to guide future strategies for bushfire mitigation. The summit will be an opportunity for invited stakeholders to discuss lessons learnt from previous bushfires andl to work on a way forward to improve bushfire mitigation.
The CPSU/CSA expect to have a lot to say about how members at the front line of bushfire mitigation could be supported to continue their good work.
The summit will examine various aspects of bushfire management, including prescribed burns and staffing levels.
The all-day event will be held in Mandurah on Friday, June 23 and will look at targets for prescribed burns, local government agency responsibilities and the experience of bushfire volunteers.
Public submissions are welcome two weeks prior to the summit and will be open for a further two weeks after the summit. The CSA is keen to work with members on a submission.
