Dental Clinic Assistants' Reclassification - Update

On 15 March the CPSU/CSA met with a representative of the Health service’s Industrial Relations (IR) unit and a representative of the Office of the Minister for Health to prompt for a status update on the Dental Clinic Assistants’ Application for Reclassification.

Dental Clinic Assistants have been waiting for the results of their reclassification application for almost a year since lodgement, and in the vicinity of ten years since the issue of their undervaluation was initially raised.

 The CPSU/CSA were advised that a Draft report from the external consultant who was commissioned to review the reclassification application in March 2017 will be delivered by Friday 23 March 2018, with the final report due by the end of the month, and further communications with the Union to deliver the results of the review to Dental Clinic Assistants in early April.

The CPSU/CSA will continue to be in contact with members to advise on the status of the application for reclassification.
