Donated Books Help write new chapter for Save the Children
Hundreds of books have been collected by Water Corporation employees and CPSU/CSA members for the next Save The Children book sale in April.
The collection will go part of the way to replacing thousands of damaged books after a water main burst next to their East Victoria Park depot in July.
Water Corporation staff collected books and took them along to the Save Our Water Rally in Leederville in September to highlight the dire state of the agency in the face of staff and resource cutbacks.
Our members predict there will be many more burst water mains unless the Barnett Government reverses this trend and commits to the proper investment of water assets and planned maintenance.
Save The Children is one of Australia’s biggest aid and development agencies dedicated to protecting children from harm and giving them access to quality education and health services.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to collect the books that will be used in next year’s fundraising event.
