EOI for appointment to the WA Aboriginal Advisory Council
The CPSU/CSA encourages eligible members to apply via an expression of interest process to join the Western Australian Aboriginal Advisory Council (WAAAC), the body responsible for providing advice to the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and the State government on strategic direction for Aboriginal affairs.
The council are to meet bi-monthly with a mandate to guide the State Government’s strategic direction for Aboriginal affairs, transform relationships, and positively influence the economic, social and cultural outcomes for Aboriginal Western Australians. The four key focus areas for the WAAAC will include leadership; education; employment; and housing.
In line with increasing the total number of women appointed to government boards and committees by 50 per cent by 2019, Aboriginal women are strongly encouraged to apply to join this board.
