Great wins with Path to Permanency

Path to Permanency has been one of the Union’s most successful campaigns in recent years, with hundreds of new members and public sector staff gaining permanent employment.

CPSU/CSA member Zita works in Marketing and PR for a school in Perth’s eastern suburbs and had been on rolling contracts for a few years.

She applied for permanency after a colleague told her about the Union’s Path to Permanency program.

“I had been in the role for 3 years and I first heard about the Conversion to Permanency Process via my line manager.

Rolling contracts can be a stressful process for many workers, with permanency bringing relief and the ability to plan for the future.

“Permanency means peace of mind for me, in the past I was always stressed about my contract being renewed,” she said.

“Permanency gives me the opportunity to invest in property and do so much more than I could before because of the financial security.”
