Level 1 win: New member, new pay rise!
Aleisha is a Clerical Officer at Youth Justice and had just joined as a new CPSU/CSA member.
“This is a great place to work, everyone is so friendly and it’s a good environment. I also think the work we do in Youth Justice is really important for the community as a whole.”
She says she joined her Union because it was the smart thing to do.
“The Union Organiser came round and we had a chat, I thought joining the Union gave me more rights and protections at work. It was a smart move for me.”
Aleisha is a Level 1.6, which means she is now getting an extra pay rise thanks to entitlements fought for by Union members in the new CSA Agreement.
The new Agreement includes the compaction of the Level 1 band, so workers can get to the top quicker and many will get an instant, and significant, pay rise on top of the standard $1000 per year.
“The new compaction is great and it’s now a much fairer pay scale for Level 1s. This extra pay rise will help take the pressure off and it means I don’t have to budget as hard, it will be a good Christmas,” she said.
