Media Statement: Service Priority Review
Toni Walkington commented on the release by the McGowan Government of a review of services.
Toni Walkington, CPSU/CSA Secretary said:
“We believe that the Services Priority Review will find that government services in this state are efficient and effectively deliver valuable community services.
“We also believe the review will identify that the previous government’s arbitrary cuts have resulted in perverse outcomes.
“We want to see preventative programs funded, we want to make sure there is less crime, less children going into state care and people are provided with the services they need. And that’s where the funding needs to be directed.
“Our members want to see an innovative, modern public service.
“Of course, people are concerned about their future.
“But most importantly our members want to do their jobs effectively and this is an opportunity to get things right.
“We are totally opposed to pay freezes, that is completely unacceptable.”
