Residential Colleges Win New Job Classification!

After months of negotiations, Union members at Residential Colleges across WA have secured huge wins for staff!

These significant wins come after Delegates stood together and demanded action from the Education Department on their outdated work entitlements. For over a year, Union members fought hard for fairer conditions, which have resulted in new job levels and significant pay rises for nearly all Residential Colleges staff. 

The new administrative arrangements include; a better reflective commuted allowance, improved Occupational Health and Safety standards and new job levels, which recognise years of service (meaning some Union members are securing nearly $30,000 a year more!). 

The new job levels are a significant improvement in the way Residential Colleges have previously run and finally provide recognition for the important work staff do.

But the hard work of members doesn’t stop here. The new administrative arrangements are an interim measure while Delegates begin to negotiate the new Residential Colleges 2020 Agreement. A strong Union is the only way to secure the new pay & conditions for years to come!

It’s hoped the new administrative arrangements will take effect in the coming weeks. Congratulations again to all involved in this massive win!
