WA takes out National Child Protection award
CPSU/CSA Branch Secretary Rikki Hendon is honoured to announce that WA Delegate Karen Hadida has taken out the national award for Child Protection Delegate of the year!
As part of Child Protection Week, the award recognises her highly regarded role as a union delegate and advocate for all child protection workers.
Child Protection Minister Simone McGurk MLA offered her congratulations.
“Karen is working in a very complex and sensitive area, so in my role as Minister for Child Protection, I thank her for the great work that she is doing.
“I would also like to acknowledge her commitment to being a delegate in her workplace and advocating on behalf of her colleagues.
“It is important that those supporting some of the State’s most vulnerable young people also feel supported as they go about their work, and this award recognises Karen's contribution to creating that kind of work environment,” she said.
Karen is a Liaison Officer at the Department of Communities in Mandurah and is much esteemed by her colleagues.
“Karen is passionate about her role as our Union delegate and goes over and beyond for the staff of our district.
“She encourages us all to attend the meetings and to also to be proactive with any news or negotiations going on within the CPSU.
“Karen is a true believer in the values of the CPSU and will always support and stand by her colleagues. She is always available for any questions or issues that we have and will ensure that she finds an answer for us.
“We are very privileged to have Karen as our Union Delegate,” CPSU/CSA member.
