WASSRA Conference

This year the CPSU/CSA Schools Organising team were delighted to be part of the recent State School Registrars Association (WASSRA) Convention.
The schools team welcomed guests at our help desk, provided union information for members and non–members and also ran a 'guess the number of chocolate coins in the jar' competition for conference attendees.
The prize this year included a jar full of chocolate coins and a Delonghi coffee machine, courtesy of Member Benefits partner Shoprite.
Congratulations to our competition winner Belinda Ng from Kalgoorlie, who took home the chocolates (literally) as well as a Delonghi coffee machine, courtesy of ShopRite.
Schools Group claim for Overtime and On-Call Allowance
As we work to build the case for our group claim for unpaid Overtime and On-Call Allowances, we are asking members who have expressed an interest in joining the claim to complete our survey. The responses will be used to form the basis of the claim.
Over 150 members have indicated that they would like to be part of the CPSU/CSA Group Claim for payment of up to 6 years’ worth of on-call allowance and/or overtime.
Many members in schools are owed money for unpaid work regularly undertaken out of hours to carry-out scheduling and coordinating relief staff for schools.
We are finalising the first Group Claim submission for those members who have registered and encourage remaining members to complete the online claim questionnaire to provide further information about their own particular circumstances and claim entitlement.
Any members who are owed money that haven’t filled out the online questionnaire and want to be included, should do so ASAP as it closes off next week.
You can complete the questionnaire here.
