Public Sector Reform 2025 - Other FAQ's
1. How are existing recruitment processes to be managed?
The process of identifying which teams will and will not be moved is to occur throughout Stage 1, up until the 30th of June 2025. The CPSU/CSA is engaged in several forums during this time to ensure these assessments are carried out in a fair manner with ample consultation. We will also be working with the Public Sector Commission and in the Implementation Groups to ensure Departments apply a robust and uniform workforce planning process across agencies to manage the change.
2. What if a person has been appointed to a position but has not yet started?
If you have signed the employment contract, your new employment arrangement will apply, but may be subject to the same process of assessment and transfer, depending on the nature of the role and the employing authority, as other positions within the public sector affected by the Reform process. The Department should honour any signed contracts of employment and if needs be, all other aspects of fairness and consultation regarding the Reform will apply.
3. Will there be a change to directors general?
As decisions and appointments regarding Directors General arise the CPSU/CSA will reach out to new and existing appointees to discuss the long-term direction of the Department in question.
