Digital Membership Card

GETTING STARTED

To access your digital membership card choose your preferred device and follow the instructions.

Desktop

Desktop

The desktop site is best for: printing your card, browsing products and registering.

On your laptop or desktop go to https://www.shoprite.com.au/

If you have already registered login with your chosen email and password and you'll be directed to the CPSU/CSA members site.

If you have not already registered click the white Register button in the top-right corner of the Homepage.

Remember: Fill out the Union/Organistion field to gain access to the CPSU/CSA portal and your card.

Just start typing CPSU... and two options will appear: make sure you select Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU/CSA). 

If you select Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) you will be assigned to the federal branch and will not have access to the card.

Entering your membership number will also help speed up your registration.

You will receive a confirmation email acknowledging your registration, and later a welcome email from Shoprite confirming your account is now active. The welcome email may take up to 48hrs.

The mobile app is best for: quick product lookups, your membership cards, contacting the Union and Shoprite.

From your mobile device Download the app on the App Store (or search Shoprite and download the app with the red tick icon).

If you have already registered login with your chosen email and password and select Remember me for easy access next time you're using the app. 

Your membership card will be the first thing to show up once you are logged in, and you can use the menu (top left) to start accessing your member benefits!

If you have not already registered tap the grey Register button.

I created my account and it says ‘Membership Pending’

If you register over the weekend, or Shoprite are experiencing a large number of registrations, you may see Membership Pending  for an extended time as the wonderful staff at Shoprite will need to run a validation check against your member number. You will receive an email when your membership is active, and in the meantime you can use any of Shoprite’s services simply by quoting your membership number over the phone.

I haven't received my welcome email

It may take up to 48hrs to validate your membership card. If you provided incomplete information upon registration it may take a little longer as we will need to manually confirm your membership with Shoprite. Also remember to check your Junk or Spam folder when checking for emails from a new organisation or business. If you haven't received your welcome email within 3 working days please contact Shoprite on 08 9300 1221 in the first instance or Unionlink on 08 9323 3800.

I received an error message on the app/website

There are a few errors that can occur when you first register including:

  • A 'suspended' account if you have moved in and out of union coverage since first registering
  • You're asked to 'reactivate' your account
  • Your membership is 'pending'

If your membership is pending please wait to receive your Welcome email from Shoprite. This can take up to 48hrs and may go to your junk or spam folder if it is the first time you've received an email from Shoprite.

For all other error messages, the quickest option is to contact Shoprite directly on 9300 1221 or 1300 650 214.

I am already registered with Shoprite, how do I get my card?

Your card will be ready for you in the Shoprite app when you next log in. It will be the first screen that comes up upon successful login.

Is my Shoprite email the same as I used for Union emails?

No, you do not have to use the same email for your union membership and your Shoprite access. We keep all your union details separate, as per our Privacy Policy, and Shoprite holds their own database of members with the details you choose to input when you register.

I have forgotten my Shoprite password.

The Shoprite app and desktop site both have easy-to-use ‘Forgot Your Password?’ link, similar to other password protected sites. Use this feature to reset your password.

Can I use my card at Cash and Carry?

Yes, you can present your digital card at Cash and Carry, and any other Shoprite related service. Your digital card also shows your member number, which can be used to access non-Shoprite related member benefits such as the ACTU Member Benefits Program.

How do I get my card in the app/desktop?

On the desktop Shoprite website, login to your account and you will be sent to a new dashboard page with new options and (CSA) red features. Get your card by clicking the My Card menu item in the dark red menu below the main header image. 

For the first few months after the launch of the digital membership card, it will be the first screen that appears upon login in the app.

If you do not see the CSA red Shoprite page or your card in the app, you may not have registered as a CPSU/CSA member, see the FAQ The app doesn’t show my card for help with this.

If you join or log in later in the year, you may need to go to the My Membership option on the menu to view your card.

The app/website doesn’t show my card.

You may not be registered as a CPSU/CSA member with Shoprite. In order to get your card, you must have selected the CPSU/CSA as your affiliated union upon registration. It's quite common to confuse this with our federal branch, the CPSU. You can call Shoprite directly on 1300 650 214 and they will update your account or send us an email at help@cpsucsa.org and we can follow this up for you.

It (the app/website) says my membership has expired.

Some common reasons for this include:

  • You have been a member of another union, with access to Shoprite in the past
  • You left the CPSU/CSA for a time, but have re-joined

If either of these apply to you, or you continue experiencing this error please use the ‘Contact Us’ options in the Shoprite app or website to have them help you.

My card has the wrong information on it.

If your card has the wrong information on it i.e. the wrong email, please contact Unionlink to update your details.

Can I print out my card?

Definitely! If you think you may be offline or would prefer to carry a copy in your wallet, you can print out your card from the desktop site or as an image from your mobile device.

I can’t download the app/I don’t have an iPhone or Android phone?

The digital membership card can be accessed easily through the Shoprite desktop site and portal for CPSU/CSA members. You can save the card as an image and send it to your desired mobile device if you do not have access to the App Store or Google Play. Alternatively, you can print out the card from the desktop site and carry it with you.

Why can’t I have a physical/printed out card?

Our former provider cannot print individual cards as they are printed, ordered and mailed ‘in bulk’. Digital delivery also allows the union to cut back on our carbon footprint by reducing our printing, paper, mailing and delivery needs. 

You can print out your own card from the Shoprite desktop site at any time.

What information do you give to Shoprite/Can Shoprite see my membership details?

We do not provide Shoprite with any personal or professional information. When you register the Shoprite system uses a script to validate your membership against our database, without opening access to any member details. It simply checks if the member number given is ‘valid’, and if so you are able to registered for Shoprite.

I don’t want to use Shoprite. Is there an alternative?

There are not very many instances in which members need to show a physical card as proof of membership. Most of the time quoting your membership number is fine. You can find this in the top right of most union emails and it was included in the membership email that was sent out detailing how to access our digital membership card.

At this time, only Shoprite in-store services, such as Cash and Carry, require a visible card to be produced at point of purchase. As Cash and Carry is a Shoprite partner, they are familiar with the digital membership cards.

However, if you do not think you will use these services you do not need to show your card and can refrain from using Shoprite.

 

 

Why do I have to go through Shoprite to get my union card?

As our member benefits partner, Shoprite have kindly agreed to offer this service free to CPSU/CSA members. As most instances in which members need to show proof of membership relate to services delivered through Shoprite e.g. Cash and Carry, Shoprite buying services etc. it is a time saver for members and service-providers. 

Digital delivery also allows the union to cut back on our carbon footprint by reducing our printing, paper, mailing and delivery needs.
