500+ Members Kick-off Next Steps

Members turned out in force to the Your Union Agreement Mass Members Meeting at the Perth Exhibition and Convention Centre last Wednesday 29th of March.

CPSU/CSA Branch Secretary Toni Walkington and Coordinator of Organising Rikki Hendon reflected on the campaign so far, the challenges posed by the economic and fiscal environment and the importance of establishing a productive dialogue with the newly elected McGowan Labor Government to achieve positive outcomes for members.

The Hon. Bill Johnston, new Minister for Commerce and Industrial Relations, also addressed the meeting, acknowledging the good work of people working in the public sector and expressing WA Labor’s genuine opposition to privatisation and determination to fulfil their election promises.

Tell the Premier

What would you tell the Premier of WA if given the chance? For the last eight years the Government hasn’t been listening and we haven’t had a chance to tell truth to power, but now we do. To kick off a meaningful dialogue with the new Government, we’re asking members to share their insight and wisdom about delivering and supporting public services and, in doing so, support campaign for Your Union Agreement and influence how the public sector looks in the future.
