Water Corporation Bargaining Update
The CPSU/CSA commenced formal negotiations with Water Corporation for a new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement on 3rd October3 2017. ‘In-principle’ agreement was reached with Water Corporation (subject to drafting) on 31 January 2018.
Water Corporation initially sought to make 39 major changes that would affect the working conditions of our members, we fought long and hard, and ended up getting all of the major changes dropped, and improving some conditions along the way.
Some key points include:
- Three year agreement
- No trade offs
- $1000 pay increases (effective from 1 April 2018, 1 April 2019 & 1 April 2020)
- Super Co-contribution scheme enshrined in the EBA and widened to include all normal super funds (not just AMP/Formerly Water Corporation) allowing a 3% employee contribution to be matched with 2% from the Water Corporation
- Inclusion of a clause establishing a Joint Consultative Committee (JCC)
- 10 days’ paid Domestic Violence leave (on top of existing leave provisions)
A roadshow will be undertaken shortly to promote the new proposed agreement, which will be followed by a vote of our membership as to whether they accept the terms and conditions of the new agreement.
