CPSU/CSA STATEMENT REGARDING THE BONDI TRAGEDY

Monday 15 December 2025

The Community and Public Sector Union/Civil Service Association of WA (CPSU/CSA) condemns the violent terror attack against the Jewish community at Bondi in Sydney yesterday evening. We condemn violence and hate in the strongest possible terms and stand in solidarity with the Jewish community and all those affected by yesterdays events.

We thank citizens, first responders and all Australians who responded with courage and haste as the terror attack unfolded, and with compassion and love as we move together through the aftermath. Peace is union business. The CPSU/CSA and all unions stand against violence, war and terror at home and internationally.

We have sent our solidarity and support to our colleagues and comrades NSW as they walk the long road with the rest of their communities.

There is no place in our communities for this kind of hate and our values now more than ever need to hold us in solidarity and support to stand against it, and alongside others in their struggle.

We encourage public sector workers to make use of Blood/Plasma Donors Leave (Clause 34) as per your awards to make an appointment with Lifeblood: https://my.donateblood.com.au/
