CPSU/CSA STATEMENT ON UNIT 18 INCIDENT

The Community and Public Sector Union/Civil Service Association is aware of the serious incident resulting in the hospitalisation of a young person that occurred at Casuarina Prison Unit 18 last night.

The following quotes are attributable to CPSU/CSA Branch Secretary, Rikki Hendon:

“The CPSU/CSA’s thoughts are with the family and friends of the young person involved in last night’s incident, and we wish the young person well in their recovery. The union is supporting the psychosocial well-being of our members at Unit 18, particularly those present at the time of the incident. The union will not be making any further comments at this time.”
