The Community and Public Sector Union/Civil Service Association yesterday received the first offer from the Cook Government for a replacement to the Public Sector Civil Service Association Agreement 2022. The offer will now be examined in detail, and the union will meet with delegates on Wednesday to discuss the substance of the offer and how to proceed.
Comments attributable to CPSU/CSA Branch Secretary, Rikki Hendon:
“The CPSU/CSA yesterday received a first offer from the Cook Government for the pay and conditions of over 40,000 public sector workers across the state. The union notes the offer includes pay rises of 4.75%, 4% and 3% across three years, which falls short of what has been offered for other public sector cohorts, and contains nothing for regional public sector workers, no movement on a four-day workweek trial or improved superannuation.
“It is clear the Government has failed to grasp the severity of the attraction and retention crisis facing the public sector, which is affecting the delivery of WA’s public services. Union delegates will meet on Wednesday to decide whether to reject this offer and keep fighting for a better outcome.”
