The Community and Public Sector Union/Civil Service Association (CPSU/CSA) yesterday received a second offer from the Cook Government for a replacement for the Public Sector Civil Service Association Agreement 2022. The offer will now be examined in detail, and the union will meet with delegates on Thursday to discuss the substance of the offer and how to proceed, followed by a Special Council meeting.
Comments attributable to CPSU/CSA Acting Branch Secretary, Melanie Bray:
“The CPSU/CSA today received a second offer from the Cook Government for the pay and conditions of over 40,000 public sector workers across the state. The union notes the offer includes pay rises closer to that of our Public Sector Alliance partners and conditions improvements in comparison to our first offer. The union will now consider the offer in detail.
“On Thursday, we will consult with our delegates, the leaders in our public sector workplaces, who will make a recommendation to the CPSU/CSA Council on whether the offer should be put to members to vote on. Our members have fought long and hard in this campaign and it will ultimately be up to them and their Delegates to determine if it is good enough.”
ENDS
