Unions WA International Women's Day Conference 2026

Our friends, UnionsWA, are hosting an International Women’s Day Conference for IWD 2026!

UnionsWA's Conference theme, Gender Equality: It’s for Every Body, reflects our shared commitment to justice and fairness for all women and every worker and aligns with the UN Women Australia’s official IWD 2026 theme, Balance the Scales, which calls for fair, inclusive, and accessible justice for every woman and girl.

What to expect at the conference

The conference is a full day (9am - 4:30pm), free event open to all women and gender diverse members of UnionsWA affiliated Unions. It will be held at the Leederville Function Centre, 246 Vincent Street, Leederville 6007. 

UnionWA's IWD conference seeks to:

• Empower women to be active leaders in their unions
• Build momentum for campaigns driving gender equality
• Equip you with practical strategies to improve workplace equality

Make your voice count by joining the It’s for Every Body campaign, a powerful movement led by Australian Unions fighting for real workplace change.

This campaign is calling for two critical reforms:

• 10 days of paid reproductive health leave – ensuring workers have the support they need during significant health moments

• Flexible work rights enshrined in the National Employment Standards – making work-life balance a fundamental right, not a privilege

At the Conference, you’ll learn how to champion these reforms in your workplace, connect with fellow campaigners, and take action that drives meaningful progress toward gender equality.
